Copper County roars into the 20’s, with all the glitz and glamour that goes with it. The greatest silent film director of the age has been invited to film his epic in the county and everyone is needed to make it happen. The Twin Dictators will need to be filmed over the first three days and the premiere will be on the final day. Yet the residents of Copper County are not entirely pleased with the speed at which all this change is happening. There are murmurings of worker dissatisfaction and the union movement is growing, much to the frustration of the Von Vanderhaus family who are producing the film. Will it get made in time?
The Birth of Copperwood was a four day fully immersed performance as part of Boomtown 2023. It involved a company of 70 multi-disciplinary performers that included theatre, music and circus. It coincided with the filming and premiere of 'The Twin Emperors'.
